]]>Udupi Taxi visited this fort on our way to Murudeshwar from Gokarna. Though this place is almost in ruins now, it still gives the idea of how grand this structure would have been. The surrounding of this fort is also very scenic. Though the Archaeological Survey of India has taken over its maintenance, it surely is ignored place from their side. I couldn’t see any restrooms, any information boards describing history or importance of the place or any place where you can have some refreshments.
There is no guide to tell the history you have to explore on your own. You need less than one hour to look around. The place is very nice so much greenery all around. This less crowded place is perfect to take pictures. It’s also a great view point.
Visiting Mirjan fort, which is not so well known, will give you a different experience. The sprawling fort and the facilities like wells, underpass and steps will surprise you. There is also an aesthetic beauty to the whole place
